Pattoa Foods was born out of a desire to accentuate plant-based foods to another level. Karen Vincent-Baker, the founder and creator of these amazing meals calls Canada her home for the past 42 years realized Canada is so diverse and multi-cultural in culture and food.
After switching to a mostly plant-based meal plan about 10 years ago, she realized that most of the meals being offered was missing that "island flare" that she was raised with. One of the things she noticed with the meals was that there was little flavour and it was full of MSG, salt and lack a lot of nutrients.
Having a love for food and literally growing up in an extended family of over 10 siblings, family dinners and events was never dull but sometimes options for vegetarians were. For years she was asked to cater several private events and her customers were dazzled at how her plant-based meal looks like the real thing. After being in hiding for a while she was sanctioned by many to come out of hiding. Karen and her team is now ready to go on round 2 to bring these healthy meals to market.
Finally, after much request, she has officially launched Pattoa Foods to continue the legacy that grandma Sue and her mom Yvonne has taught her – prepare great meals all the time. - NO EXCEPTION. As long as grandpa can eat it, its good!
